Hi!
At first sry for my english this is not my nativr language but im tryin my best.
So i have a suzuki swift 2002, its a 1.3 16v and i want to swap my engine block to 1.6 ... i know that the 1.6 16v swift (sedan) has central injection but if im well informed 1.6 16v baleno has multi point injection just like my 1.3 16v (g13bb). Does anybody done this swap before? If my informations are correct my 1.3 head will perfectly fit to baleno's 1.6 block but.. will my 1.3 transmission fit to the 1.6 block.. or if i replace it to an 1.6 transmission i can fit it in my car?
If someone have more information about this swap please share with me.
Thank you all!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I just wanted to say hello since you just joined the club. I don't know the answer, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people here and I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Usually someone will respond quickly.

I can't be positive but as far as I know all G series engines will bolt to the same transmission. The G13b had an extra bolt for the bell housing so unless you skip that bolt or find a GT transmission you will have a problem.

There may be someone here that is more familiar with what you want to do but there are probably more people that could help you at the Australian site. You refer to the Baleno which never arrived in North America. Check with these guys... https://www.redlinegti.com/forum/index.php

You could use the same adapter plate the samurai/jimny guys use when they swap the 1.3 out with the 1.6 block. The 1.6 baleno trans could be made to work it is basically a swift gt trans with a larger bell housing. I cant remember if the baleno/esteem trans has the correct mounting points to bolt right up to the left frame rail. I had some pics of one and just deleted them last night.

Thanks for the replies guys I really appreciate it! :)
I'm really happy cause you said this can be a working swap.. my big fear is this transmission swap but now my plan is to find a working factory Baleno end ill measure the mounting points..
Just to be clear, you said if I can mount it up it could work true? :)

This will be a summer project for me so if I get some progress in this project I'll share the details with you.
Thanks one more time and safe drivin guys!

We did get the 1.6 powered Swift sedan.

The 1.6 trans was a popular swap the other way, usually on a boosted 1.3 and it generally bolted up, though there are a few bolt holes that are not on the 1.3 block.

There should be enough info to figure it out backwards through this thread
