Timing Belt Tensioner 89 to 94 1.3 DOHC GT(I)

As parts dry up and I can no longer find a timing belt kit for our gt(i) I wanted to list the GMB part (this the same part that came off my car; and is the same part I pulled off it 100000 miles ago) that was included in the Dayco kits. That part is 430-8940 (E8004RTN part on bearing). Rockauto and other venders list the wrong diameter tensioner. The wrong tensioner is listed at 52 mm which I believe is the tensioner for sohc 1.3 Swift. This tensioner (the correct one) is roughly 42 mm (41.9 mm) diameter and is 30.2 mm height. The Metro .99 litre g10 tensioner is close to the same size at 42 mm diameter, but is only 25 mm height. Rockauto would not give me even a free return; which pisses me off enough to blast them on here. The Gates Timing belt that they gave me looked like it had been sitting in the sun with faded letters. It is a good thing I still had the Dayco Kit 95171k1 which is sold out every where.

I know a few members like the brand Bando, but state side they all disappeared about a year ago for Gt(i). Rockauto still show Bando timing belts by themselves for 1.0. The 1.0 engine ones as above are 25 mm depth with a 42 mm diameter and won't fit the width of a GT(i) timing belt at roughly 30 mm. A lot of the 1.0 tensioner are on closeout right now.

i dont want to hear this!! was going to start driving my gti, it has a newer timing belt, but because of twin cam interference, i like to keep that timing belt in excellent shape !! i dont want bent valves or smashed pistons at 7500+ rpm..
