With the pattern on the sheet, I drilled the holes first making sure to use some sacrificial wood backing. Then a pair of Milwaukee tin snips did the rest, and once I had it apart to check the fit, I used a file to clean up the rough areas and fine tune the holes. I had a better plan to actually use...

Blown Turbo Downpipe Gasket Modified MK1 T3

So my turbo to downpipe gasket has seen better days. When I got the last turbo kit from Jardamuth, just before they scrapped their mock up car, it was a custom build with no gaskets included. So I had to re-use the triangle gasket and make my own downpipe gasket. I think I started with aluminum shee...

You cannot bypass the O2 sensor, it is a crucial component of your fueling system.
It sends data to the ECM to determine correct fueling.
Why would you want to bypass it?

Hey so if Walt's still reading, meant to ask what you're running in the rear? And for MKC1962, I did get the Gabriel's and they've been in the back of my car a couple weeks waiting for some spare time after work to swap them out. I've been having some shimmy issues, and I've finally traced it down t...

OK, so I have '87 MK1 T3. I was stumped a few years ago with an electronics issue. If I had to throw a guess out there, I would say maybe your ignitor failed. Similar symptoms. I never had one fail, then had multiple failures on multiple cars. Not that familiar with the 89, but I'm guessing it might...

Looks like Walt summed up that old TS post in a couple pics.
From the pics it looks like 86 2588SPORT
I was able to pull up on the web.
There you go. Thanks Walt

That's how it works for the mainstream guys. The sellers are brokers, all pulling from the same central distribution center. The parts warehouses may have 10 available, so if 15 sellers say there are 10 available, it doesn't mean each one has 10, it means those 15 sellers are all brokers for the war...

So upon reading this, I reached out to several manufacturers this summer with queries. I assume there was one factory making them, and they were just sold with different branding. As no one would confirm this, they simply replied that they were discontinued. All is not lost, you can still get the Ga...
