The units are very rebuildable. If you don't know what your looking at and playing with, I would say have Joel rebuild the unit. He also the guy who sells the new thicker gears for the diff in the 4.39s. I am a builder, but do not recommend most people doing their own build. Yours will probably need...

Nachi and Koyo are both great bearings. Made in Japan. Stay away from KBC’s. Beyond cheap. I built standard transmissions most of my career, the American bears like Timken were super over priced.

I enjoyed that. While on the straights big hp takes over, but once its in when it comes to the corners, your eating them up. Yeah a fresh engine and maybe a bit taller gearing might help on the straights. Keep posting.
