I sorted a few loose ends today. My new Race Sport lifetime ballast HID were having issues with the high beams not working with the bi-xenon bulbs. The harness came plugged in the wrong way and a little swapping around of the pins and now they're functioning correctly. I fixed an annoying misting of...

They all peel or rust eventually. Specially if over torqued with an impact gun. I never touch my lug nuts with an impact gun. When I go to any tire place I let them know that if they use an impact gun they will be replacing the lug nuts. I still watch. They anodize the dura aluminum so they resist ...

I know this post is from 2018 but I thought I would add to it. I am running Rays Dura Nut Lug Nuts: (they go perfectly with my Volk Rays wheels; maybe because they were made for them, and I'm also running ARP 12 mm x 1.5 wheel studs which I guarantee will out perform the stock 10 mm Metro studs.) De...

I completed the first few test drives and had her back up and running yesterday. The ball bearing turbo sounds like a small jet engine with the larger air intake. I will have to tweak the idle and the blow off valve a little but she ran pretty sweat! The Tial external wastegate with an 8 lbs spring ...

Like always I have been detoured by everything under the sun. Project is creeping to a close. I will prime the oil system today, and hopefully go for a test drive. I’ll try to take some new pictures today if I get a chance.

I was able to use one of the 4 AN hoses that came with the turbo for the oil feed hose, and this freed up a 4 AN 90 degree fitting. The hose was nylon oil rated with stainless braid which is way more flexible and it fit so much better for the oil feed then the 90 and 45 degree p.t.f.e. hose that I w...

Has anyone ever see if any of the other IHI turbo CHARA fit the hot cold ends? There are a lot IHI turbos out there that are still mass produced that are a lot cheaper.

The Suzuki MLS is one of the hardiest head gaskets I have ever used. I’m assuming there is a non-MLS one available but I have never looked into it.

had an odd vibe / noise when on the highway....was getting worse....pulled over, thought it was a transmission bearing, it was a loose pass front wheel :-o tightened it back up, and kept on going.... :-D I had a close call like that with the rear axle nut. Working late/ tired and I forgot to torque...

All the exhaust pipes and manifold are welded up and I'm ready to get her back together. I'm making my check list of thing I still need to do before firing her over: Move oil cooler mounts over 1/2" to 5/8" ( essential to fitting the larger 2" turbo out pipe) done (settled for 9/16") Install mounts ...
